Purpose
Challenging a widely accepted belief that causes people to make unsafe, inefficient, or expensive decisions.
This style exists to break a bad default and replace it with a better one.
Must include:
-
A clear belief or assumption many people currently hold
-
A real consequence of following that belief
(lost money, wasted time, broken trust, hidden risk)
Mandatory delivery:
→ A replacement rule, safer default, or concrete alternative action.
The post must answer:
-
“If this belief is wrong, what should I do instead?”
Contrarian without replacement is complaint, not value.
Delivery constraints:
-
The replacement must be simpler or safer than the original belief
-
It must be executable or decidable today
-
It must reduce risk, not increase complexity
Validation question:
“After reading this, what should the reader stop doing — and what should replace it today?”
If the post only criticizes without prescribing a safer alternative, it is invalid.
⚠️ Rules:
-
No rage bait
-
No arrogance
-
No “everyone is wrong but me” tone
-
No abstract philosophy
The goal is correction, not controversy.
